Donations from building materials company Tarmac have supported community football teams in Llantwit Major, South Wales.
Firstly, Aberthaw Cement Plant in Barry donated concrete to provide some firm foundations for goalposts at the nearby Llantwit Major Juniors football club.

On a sunny afternoon last year, a team of volunteers from Tarmac went to the club ground to remove the old goalposts and fit the new ones.
Neil Thompson, from Llantwit Major Junior Football Club, said: “On behalf of Llantwit Major Junior Football Club, I would like to give my tremendous thanks for the donation and volunteers from Tarmac who completed the installation of our new football goalposts.
“Our club runs on volunteers, and to have the team at Tarmac come and complete this work for us is hugely appreciated, and furthermore they have done a stellar job that we could not have done ourselves.”
Aberthaw Cement Plant also received a separate request to support the Llantwit Lightning girls under 12s team, who were in need of new kit. Tarmac was able to support them through a donation of £700 for an all-new kit, plus bucket hats.

Stuart Escott, plant manager at Tarmac’s Aberthaw Cement Plant, said: “We were proud to be able to support Llantwit Major Juniors football club through the donation of the new goal post foundations while also funding the new kit for the Llantwit Lightning girls under 12s team.
“It’s brilliant to be able to support other parts of our community like local grassroots football clubs. It is wonderful to see young children being so involved in football.”
